Shay Anthony Lea Music

Wicklow based singer/songwriter Shay Anthony Lea was born and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. From an early age he loved music and spent his youth listening to it, dancing to it and playing and singing it.

Early influences and favourites were Bowie, Queen, Dylan and Cohen – now he listens to anything and everything from Ed Sheeran to Taylor Swift, Smashing Pumpkins to Foo Fighters and everything in between. Shay likes many genres and has always been attracted to strong lyrics allied to good melody. His influences translate into his soulful, introspective songs alternated with high energy rhythmic blasts that make you want to get up and dance.

Outside of writing and composing Shay likes to walk his two dogs, a pointer cross Lab and a Wicklow Collie. Surrounded by the beauty of the Wicklow Mountains, inspiration comes from many sources the quiet helps to shape the songs that define him.

His first release in June of this year was ‘Givin’ it All’.

‘Sweet Summer Love’, due for release on 10th August next is a high tempo rhythmic Soca holiday song, full of visions of warm summer days and hot nights.

Shay is busy recording his latest compositions and looks forward to later releases in Autumn/Winter of 2020 and in 2021.
