Dermot has established himself in Co Kerry where he plays the local hotels bars and holiday resorts. He also works out of Dublin from where he covers the Northern part of the country.Born in Athlone just three doors away from the home of the world famous Tenor Count John Mc Cormack.

Dermots birthplace seemed to be taking him on a path into Music that was already laid out for him.Despite his parents relocating to Dublin Dermot kept his ties with his birthplace alive as he returned every summerto reconnect with his roots.

As a young teenager in the late sixies he would spend Saturday nights sitting in a field arcoss the road from the Crescent Ballroom listening to the bands that played there every weekend.

Dermot heard the sound coming from the Ballroom calling him to follow his dream to one day play in a band.Dermots earliest influence was his Dad playing the harmonica and spoons to music on the Radio and playing records of his favourite singer Bridie Gallagher every sunday after returning from Mass.Dermot launched his first single Past the Point of Rescue back in July 2023.

He followed it up with Let you Love flow and then Sunday Morning Coming Down. His latest single Lone Star State of Mind is currently getting a great reaction charting with many Nationwide Radio Stations. In the early 90s The Highwaymen tour was in Dublin playing at the Point. Dermot had a brief meeting with Johnny Cash in Dublin the morning after Johnnys gig.

Dermot felt this chance meeting with Johnny and another meeting with John Prine a few months later in Dublin was guiding him to take a bigger interest in the Country Music scene and so the story takes Dermot on a journey into the music he enjoys and loves so much today. It seems you can take the boy out of the Country but you can never take the countryout of the boy.

It now appears evident that Dermot was always a country boy at heart.
