Family Affair Music

This year, 2024, marks 50 years in the music business for me. I played with family band from a very young age (The Maguire Family) until I got married. We played at weddings, parties, dances and bars etc. I also played in churches at weddings and funerals (still do) and I also taught music for a number of years.

We were so busy year after year, and we had a very successful number of years and made lifelong friends enjoying playing our music and bringing joy to many.

When I got married, I played occasionally with the band that my husband was playing in at the time. I can't remember exactly when myself, my husband Thomas Tommy Maguire, along with our good friend Freddy Beacom, started out as a three-piece band, Family Affair. Again, we had a very successful few years gigging at parties, weddings, hotels, dances etc until 3 months before our youngest was born in April 1988. In July 1988, my husband and I started out as a two piece, still under the name Family Affair.

There were tough years when the children were small, but we kept going and we are now enjoying it more than ever....gigging in the most wonderful venues. We've met and made friends from many countries as we used to perform two nights weekly in Turkey for 5/6 weeks. We love our gigs in Ireland and UK too. We travel to the UK, usually twice a year. 

We are blessed with wonderful friends from all the years gigging. Thank you to all you amazing people /venues who booked us over the years and continue to do so. Thank you also to you wonderful people who come to support us at our gigs.  We look forward to continuing what we love to do in 2025 and hopefully for many more years to come.....
